    UMMC Midtown Campus, one of two campuses of the University of Maryland Medical Center, has had a long history of working to keep our community healthy and has grown to become a trusted teaching hospital for medical and surgical care in Baltimore City.


    Located in Baltimore's cultural center near the historic Mount Vernon neighborhood, UMMC Midtown Campus is a 180-bed, community teaching hospital with a focus on helping people manage chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary conditions, and infectious diseases.

    Performs a variety of MRI procedures to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care. Ensures completion of all work assignments prior to end of shift to assist with reduced length of stay initiatives.
    Records pertinent data on requisition at all times.
    Performs phlebotomy at time of procedure to reduce patient pain and inconvenience.

    Reviews each examination for technical accuracy and abnormal pathology, presents completed examination to a radiologist via, Teleradiology and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient immediately following the procedure.

    Processes all patients through the Meditech system before end of shift to ensure proper documentation and billing information.
    Recommends, participates and assists in the implementation of expense control initiatives.
    Properly marks and identifies all MRI scans. Transfers MRI images from tape to disk laser printer.

    Reports all safety hazards and/or MRI equipment malfunctions that could harm patients, visitors or other hospital employees to appropriate supervisor immediately.

    Maintains proper stocking and cleanliness of MRI rooms.
    Participates in the MRI Section On-Call schedule

    Establishes and maintains a good rapport and working relationship with departmental staff, hospital staff, patients, families, physicians and hospital visitors.

    As identified in the department/unit specific competency plan, demonstrates:
    The technical competence necessary to provide quality care to age specific population.
    The ability to assess the developmental needs of age specific population.
    The ability to use equipment in a safe and proper manner.
    # Demonstrates support and compliance with the University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus' mission, vision, values, philosophy, goals, objectives and policies.

    Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology School. Up to one (I) year radiographic and one (1) month MRI experience following graduation from an approved school.
    Moving patients, lifting cassettes, pushing portable equipment, wearing lead aprons and standing/walking the majority of time.
