    Description

    Receives all supplies that have been ordered, inventories and stocks general store areas; assuring that incorrect or damaged items are returned. The Distribution and Storeroom Clerk is responsible for assuring that all supplies that have an associated charge are tagged prior to distribution to departments; and for restocking all supply carts and areas daily, distributing ordered supplied to appropriate departments, and assuring that established inventory levels are maintained.

    Follows established policies and procedures, objectives, safety standards, and sensitivity to confidential information.

    Inputs data and requisitions to maintain accurate inventory for reorder purposes.

    Maintains and updates departmental restock sheets.

    Maintains records of supplies provided to non-hospital users.

    Responsible for all shipping and receiving in the hospital.

    Responsible for inventory control including counts for the storeroom.

    Helps develop par level for department supplies. Maintains hospital department inventories and fills department orders as needed.

    Purchases all products for the storerooms.

    Breakout supplies when received.

    Delivers all supplies to each department. Physically restock general stores and supply carts. Keeps department supply areas clean and orderly.

    Completes reports on items received noting any damaged or incorrect items for return, and processes for return.

    Rotates stock so that stock with expiration dates are used appropriately.

    Works with the OR to enter Bill-Only and Consignment requisitions after surgeries.

    Backs up the Purchasing Agent when they are not present at work.

    Prepares data for year-end audit inventory.

    Maintain storeroom in a neat, clean and orderly manner.

    Send out all special main or parcels, any items that do not go via U.S. Postal System.

    Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

    Support the culture of service excellence throughout the organization.

    Actively seek ways to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and participate in professional development opportunities.

    Cylce counts as required.

    Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

    Completes annual education requirements.

    Understands and adheres to Bell's compliance standards as they appear in Bell's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

    Computer and/or keyboarding skill required. Excellent human relations and oral/written communication. Excellent organizational abilities. Demonstrated teamwork skills. Ability to deal with change. Demonstrates a positive attitude towards initiating continuous improvement. Ability to respond appropriately even in challenging situations. Ability to work without direct supervision.


    Minimum Education High School Diploma or equivalent.

    Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

    Must be able to lift and carry items over 50lbs.

    Minimum Work Experience Prior Storeroom experience. Preferred: Prior inventory experience.
