    A janitor is an invaluable position within a property. Janitors maintain cleanliness and orderliness within our apartment complex. In this role, you will ensure the common areas, both inside and outside, are kept clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors.     Key Responsibilities:
    Interior Responsibilities:

    • Clean and maintain common areas including hallways, stairways, lobbies, elevators, laundry rooms, and restrooms.
    • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors in common areas.
    • Empty trash and recycling bins in all common areas and apartment units as needed.
    • Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces throughout common areas.
    • Ensure all restrooms are stocked with necessary supplies and kept sanitary.
    • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.
    • Assist with special cleaning projects, such as deep cleaning or post-construction clean-ups.
    • Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a clean and hazard-free environment.
    • Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
    • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when replenishment is needed.
    • Assist in the turnover of vacant units by cleaning and preparing them for new tenants.
    Exterior Responsibilities:
    • Use blower to maintain cleanliness of parking lots, sidewalks, and entryways.
    • Empty and clean pet waste stations
    • Clean ground level exterior windows and glass surfaces, including entrance doors.
    • Remove trash and debris from outdoor areas, including lawns, courtyards, and parking areas.
    • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of building exteriors, ensuring no litter or unsightly areas.
    • Ensure that outdoor lighting and signage are clean and well-maintained.
    • Occasionally assist with seasonal cleaning tasks.
    • Report any exterior maintenance needs or safety hazards to the supervisor.
    Qualifications:
    • Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
    • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
    • Reliable and punctual.
    • Knowledge of basic cleaning equipment and chemicals.
    • Candidates selected for employment will be required to undergo a drug screening as part of the hiring process.
    • Must be able to lift to 25 pounds
