    Overview:

    Summary:
    The Senior Subcontracts Manager is responsible for

    developing, negotiating, and administering complex, high-risk subcontracts while ensuring compliance with regard to cost and schedule. This person also has a key role in supporting and reviewing team members work.

    Leadership responsibilities:

    Subcontract responsibilities:
    Prepare RFPs to potential Subcontractors, receive their proposals, and prepare price matrix for analysis. Provide input into the decision to award based on the broader portfolio-level view.
    Facilitate negotiations/contract formation activities and actively facilitate the discussions with potential services providers.

    Manage all aspects of subcontract administration for the project, from bidding to prequalified bidders, negotiation/execution of subcontracts, submitting change orders and closing out contracts after the substantial completion of projects.

    Review, negotiate and document commercial aspects of form of subcontract agreements, consulting agreements, and other agreements as assigned. Document modifications as well as internal approvals.
    Actively track and report on the contract status and schedule with project teams and management on a weekly basis.
    Advise on any deviations from standard Terms and Conditions to Legal Counsel and VP of Operations & Planning. Suggest changes as patterns in deviations emerge to facilitate clearer contract language.

    Maintain well documented files to accurately present a clear trail with regards to contract templates, approvals, executed contracts, and pending contracts.

    Develop and implement streamlined processes. Continuously improve upon and fine-tune processes as lessons are learned.
    Review project schedules and plan work accordingly. Understand scheduling logic, impacts of decisions, and backwards planning.
    Lead Subcontracts Managers in reviewing their work and providing guidance, as needed.
    Work extensively with other departments, providing support, data, and driving to process.

    Other responsibilities:
    Report KPIs as defined by the Director.
    Budget monitoring and reporting in the applicable phase codes/cost types.
    Other duties as required.
    Supervisory

    Responsibilities:

    Provides leadership and mentoring to team members and will grow to have direct reports in the future.


    Qualifications:

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
    Bachelors degree in business, engineering, construction management, project management or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.
    Specific training or education in Procurement or Contract Management preferred
    5+ years in Contracts, Legal or Supply Chain Management role(s) a plus
    3+ years

    of EPC or construction contracting experience preferred
    Renewable Energy, Power Plant, and/or EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) experience a plus
    Experience with ViewPoint a plus
    Strong analytical skills with ability to dissect high-level information into details and communicate the results effectively to the target audience
    Excellent communication, cross-functional teamwork, and leadership skills
    Solid understanding of financials, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
    Ability to independently assess, define and solve issues
