    Donor Experience Officer II - Lynchburg, United States - Liberty University

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities


    • Successfully achieve annual fundraising and engagement goals by actively engaging with and building relationships with a portfolio of prospects and donors.
    • Leverage technology including but not limited to social media platforms and video conferencing tools to build rapport, steward and solicit donors in a personalized and donor-centric, targeted and high-velocity manner.
    • Strengthen LU's partnership with donors through donor-centric strategies and outreach to effectively move them through the giving pipeline.
    • Execute monthly and quarterly touchpoint cadences across portfolio to ensure consistent and relevant donor communication.
    • Utilize dashboard tools, data analytics and partner with internal colleagues to identify donors for targeted outreach. Build relationships across the University campus to be able to connect donors with relevant campus partners.
    • Be knowledgeable of engagement and philanthropic opportunities across Liberty University (regional, alumni events, on-campus events, volunteer opportunities, fundraising priorities, etc) for the purpose of informing conversations and solicitations.
    • Aid in outreach and follow-up for events and activities on behalf of Alumni Relations and Development.
    • Proactively monitor engagement to identify and launch initiatives that drive donations.
    Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills across mediums, especially email, video and video conferencing.
    • Strong knowledge of customer care
    • Ability to articulate and defend the unique Christian educational mission and vision of Liberty University and its subsidiaries to a wide variety of individuals and groups.
    • Individual must not be in default on any federal student or parent loan.
    • Individual must not be convicted of, or pled nolo contendere or guilty to, a crime involving the acquisition, use, or expenditure of federal, state, or local government funds, -or- be administratively or judicially determined to have committed fraud or any other material violation of law involving federal, state, or local government funds (CFR b)(18)(i)).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • At least 1 year of experience in sales, or in a lead customer service position.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree required.
    2. 1 year Experience in higher education fundraising or alumni relations as a student or professional (preferred).


    • Self-motivator.
    • Ability to inspire and share stories of impact verbally.
    • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
    • Strong ability to establish priorities and manage multiple demands and assignments.
    • Attention to detail and exceptional volunteer management skills.

    • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
    • Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond articulately and professionally.
    • Possess public communication skills that allow the professional representation of Liberty University to a variety of business, government, and community customers and associates.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.

    Physical and Sensory Abilities


    • Minimal travel to local and campus locations.
    • Frequently required to attend Alumni Relations events on campus.
    • Frequently required to sit for extended periods to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
    • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
    • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.
    • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
    • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
