    Job title:
    Mechanical Engineer

    Reports to:
      Engineering Manager Dotted line to General Manager.
    Exempt | Full-time  | 40 +hours/week 
    Start Time: 7:00 am | Must report to Louisville Machine Shop


    General Description:

    •        Analyze problems to see how automated mechanical devices might help solve problems or increase manufacturing efficiencies.
    •        Design or redesign mechanical devices using common sense, engineering principles and computer aided design
    •        Develop and test prototypes of devices
    •        Source and work with vendors for solutions and pricing
    •        Generate quotes for projects
    •        Analyze test results and modify the design as needed
    •        Oversee the manufacturing process for the device
    •        Troubleshoot equipment in multiple manufacturing locations over phone or on site
    •        Be willing to travel to other locations 
    Requirements  

    •        Prefer Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering degree, but will consider combination of experience and education.
    •        SolidWorks experience required. 
    •        Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) 
    •        Machine shop experience preferred
    •        Good written and oral communication skills.
    •        Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
    •        Detail oriented. 
    •        Strong problem solving skills 
    •        Background that includes exposure to Lean Mfg., Kanban, Kaizen, 5-S, and Six Sigma methodology
