- 1. Safety
- Corroborates patient's identification and clinical history with procedure and ensures information is documented and made available for use by a licensed practitioner.

- 2. Imaging
- Receives, relays, and documents verbal, written, and electronic orders.
- Prepares patient for procedure and assumes responsibility for patient needs during procedures.
- Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy, pathology, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient's age, condition, and abilities.
- Follows protocols established by licensed practitioner and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety.
- Identifies, prepares, and administers medications, including contrast media, as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Evaluates images for quality and ensures proper recording of accurate patient identification and anatomical laterality.
- Ensures complete examination is performed following protocol.
- Ensures timely review and transfer of images and pertinent clinical information to a licensed practitioner.
- Properly operates electronic medical record (EMR), radiology information system (RIS) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
- Ability to perform portable and trauma patient radiology exams and have the ability to adjust positioning of patient and equipment to ensure a diagnostic study performed in various settings.
- Ability to perform portables, C-Arms and/or O-Arms in the operating room setting.
- 3. Patient Care.
- Provides care for patients' needs.
- Ensures pre-procedural preparation has been completed, including verifying laboratory values to include pregnancy status, according to established protocols.
- Requests prior outside images when applicable.
- Performs point-of-care laboratory testing according to established protocols.

What You'll Do
Summary:

The team member will use Novant Health's First Do No Harm (NHFDNH) safety behaviors/error prevention tools and high reliability strategies as appropriate to ensure a safe, remarkable patient experience.
The Radiologic Technologist II works independently and/or assists physicians/APCs in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the x-ray equipment in order to obtain diagnostic images in the acute setting.
The technologist is responsible for inpatient & outpatient procedures, the emergency room, fluoroscopy, portables, and the operating rooms.Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
These procedures include but not limited to:
myelograms, arthrograms (including gadolinium injections), joint injections, joint aspirations, lumbar punctures, urethrograms, tube checks (including ports, g-tubes), sinus track injections, PICC lines, dobhoff placement, nephrograms and modified barium swallows.

Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program required. Certification required within 6 months of hire post-graduation from an accredited Radiology Program.
2 Year / Associate Degree Preferred Experience:
Minimum of one year experience in diagnostic radiology preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096.
Licensure/Certification ARRT certification in Radiography - RT(R) Required Applicable state licensure as required Required Post-graduates from an accredited Radiology Program with be required to pass their ARRT registry within 6 months of completing program Required.
