    JOB POSITION: SITE TECHNICIAN

    Are you passionate about becoming a skilled Overhead Crane Service Technician for the leading Lifting Business globally? Do you possess strong electrical and mechanical aptitude? As a service technician, you will engage with 480 3 phase motors, diagnose crane issues, collaborate with clients and facility managers to ensure optimal service delivery.

    Principal Responsibilities:
    • Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at various customer sites. Available for on-call duty as part of service office rotation, providing afterhours support.
    • Perform onsite electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic troubleshooting to identify equipment malfunctions and determine necessary repairs through visual inspection, test procedures, and suitable test equipment. Complete a comprehensive post-repair audit, ensuring all essential safety features are operational or noting deficiencies with appropriate tags.

    • Record findings and offer corrective recommendations to customers, including a written "Safety Notification" concerning any observed or known safety issues, as applicable. Ascertain customer interest in repair services, informing the local service office of the required actions to secure sales or complete repairs.
    • Collaborate with customers on all repair and safety-related concerns, discussing suggestions to enhance their material handling applications before departing the premises. Identify items necessitating quotations.
    • Generate sales leads during service calls and report to the service office following set protocols.
    • Comprehend and adhere to OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI, and other industry codes or regulations. Regularly update and enhance knowledge in these areas.

    • Complete service reports and essential documentation accurately, neatly, and legibly, submitting them promptly as per established guidelines.
    • Communicate with the service office and Planner following established practices.
    • Maintain all company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in a safe and functional state. Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles, promptly reporting any deficiencies to the supervisor for resolution.
    • Ensure the service vehicle is equipped with necessary forms, literature, inventory, and miscellaneous materials, documenting their usage or sale to customers.
    • Adhere to all safety rules and procedures, including those mandated by customers.

    • Maintain company vehicle and uniforms, engaging in monthly safety meetings, and carrying out other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


    • Education: Associate degree in Industrial Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or related field, or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience.

      Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience in electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair. Some exposure to electronics is beneficial but not mandatory. Previous crane experience is advantageous.

      Other Requirements: Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Willingness to work at heights, flexible with overtime demands, availability for on-call duty, willingness to travel and work out of town occasionally.

      Salary: $22- $48 per hour - Compensation is based on various factors such as skills, location, market analysis, years of relevant experience, qualifications, technical assessments, etc.

      Ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently, up to 50 lbs daily, up to 75 lbs occasionally, and 100 lbs rarely. Role involves frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, and overhead reaching, as well as occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling, and crawling. Work environment includes 90% indoor and 10% outdoor work, with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and heights.
