We are seeking an experienced Senior Dealership Accounting Specialist to join our team and support our accounting operations across all three stores.
Position Summary
The Senior Dealership Accounting Specialist plays a key role in managing and overseeing daily dealership accounting functions. This position requires strong dealership accounting experience, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced automotive environment. The ideal candidate understands dealership processes from deal posting to month-end close and can ensure financial accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and review vehicle deal postings (new and used)
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries and general ledger adjustments
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Reconcile flooring schedules and manufacturer statements
- Maintain accurate schedules for inventory, warranties, incentives, and rebates
- Ensure compliance with dealership internal controls and accounting procedures
- Support management with financial reporting and analysis
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation
- Train and support accounting clerks as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of dealership accounting experience (required)
- Strong understanding of dealership accounting processes and terminology
- Experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar preferred)
- Solid knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred (not required with relevant experience)
