    Description
    Assists surgeon during operative procedures by passing instruments, medications, dressings, etc., and often provides retraction assistance. Set up Surgical trays, inventorying sterile set-up as needed. Transport patients, assist with vital signs and help turn over rooms. Previous surgical scrub experience and/or completion of a surgical scrub tech program preferred. Strong knowledgebase of surgical instrumentation preferred. Strong knowledgebase in sterile technique preferred. Assists in preparing and moving patients and in cleaning the operating theater. Reports to a charge nurse or nurse manager. High school diploma or GED required. OR Technician certification preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) required through AHA or American Red Cross.
    Frequently exposed to blood and/or body fluids or potentially infective materials. Requires constant hearing, speaking, vision and repetitive hand movement. Requires attention to detail despite frequent interruptions.
