    GENERAL FUNCTION


    The Senior Robotics Engineer helps shape the future of automated eyewear assembly The Senior Robotics Engineer will be responsible for the design, programming and deployment of automation and robotics systems used in manufacturing.


    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Actively participates in design review, machine wiring, programming, sourcing and deployment on the manufacturing floor
    Responsible for the project management of internal/external resources with Gantt charts to deliver projects on time within scope
    Develop custom Robotics application code
    Develop custom PLC/HMI/Robotics (programming & creation of technical documents such as IO map, user requirements, functional specifications, detailed design specifications)
    Creates automation and machine design requirements including 3D drawing design, wiring, programming, safety features, and sourcing
    Details control schemes with wiring and system drawings for automation projects
    Troubleshoots and diagnoses design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies and proactively recommends revisions and/or improvement
    Engages in project planning to identify automation opportunities
    Prepares cost estimates and written technical proposals
    Generates network communication protocols for various control equipment
    Develops mechanical/electronic controls integrating assembly stations, multi-axis handling devices and conveyance devices
    Generates appropriate documentation during each phase of the project: project scope, BOM, Gantt charts, work instructions
    Improves standards for assembly by working with process, tooling, design and quality engineers to promote defect-free processes.
    Interacts cross functionally from concept through test runs through the released manufacturing process


    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
    BS in Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent Engineering Degree
    5+ years extensive experience in robotics programing and applications
    Advanced robotic programming skills on one of the following: ABB,Denso, Fanuc
    Advanced machine vision programming and multi-Axis robotics system programming/integration
    Proficient in PLC programming (Ladder Logic and Structured Text)
    Experience in start-up and scaling of high-volume production, with an emphasis on ergonomic design, yield improvement, labor and cost reduction
    Development and introduction of new automations in manufacturing plants
    Electromechanical systems and assembly process automation experience
    Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
    Understanding of sensors, robotics, complex mechanical designs and various controls for automated systems
    Good project management skills with ability to create technical documentation and track project status and KPIs

    Proficient in HMI development (c# language)
    Proficient in 3D CAD modeling
    Omron PLC structured text programming
    Consumer Eyewear Industry
    Microsoft Project proficiency
    Lean or SPC Training

    Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
