Objective of the Job:
This role involves industrial maintenance, focusing on the upkeep and problem-solving of various equipment at the Big River Steel Facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards, including Responsible Steel requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas and surroundings.
- Troubleshoot, conduct preventive maintenance, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Properly install and adjust mechanical and electrical equipment following guidelines.
- Support operational tasks as necessary for smooth production.
- Utilize precision measuring devices effectively.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams across different departments when needed.
Qualifications:
1) Proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting VFD motor control systems.
2) Basic experience with PLCs (TIA Portal preferred).
3) Fundamental skills in electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting.
4) Ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
5) Understanding of Cranes, Coil Logistics System, and their importance in production.
6) Willingness to adapt to new tasks and learn continuously.
7) Strong communication skills and a team player mentality.
8) Self-motivated and willing to put in extra effort when necessary.
9) Basic knowledge of the production process related to Coil placement.
10) Experience with mobile equipment and manlift operation.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
This role involves working in challenging environments within the construction and operational areas of the facility. Expect 12-hour shifts rotating between days and nights, including weekends, holidays, and overtime. Ability to work long hours and respond quickly to short notices.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not involve supervision of others.
