    Job Description

    The Terracon Corporate office located in Olathe, KS is currently seeking a Treasury/Accounting Analyst responsible for activities associated with the Treasury, Period-end Accounting Close, and Financial Reporting processes. Terracon is an engineering consulting firm that performs various services including geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and observation, environmental services, and facilities engineering. Our company continues to produce excellent year-over-year growth and has created this new position to meet the demands of the organization. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their Accounting/Finance career who is eager to contribute in a fun and dynamic environment. The position has great growth potential, exposure to Executive Management, and provides visibility to a broad range of financial functions across the company.     We offer a remote work schedule where you are in office 2 days a week and then work from home 3. During month end and other busy season, this may change to 3 days in office and 2 days home.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Manage daily treasury activities including:
      • Monitoring cash and investment balances
      • Cash flow reporting
      • Fraud detection
    • Management of sales tax reporting to ensure the company is calculating and submitted taxes in a timely manner.
    • Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of period-end accounting close activities, including the following:
      • Reconciliation of various banking and general ledger accounts
      • Preparation of journal entries to ensure revenue, expense and asset items are recorded properly
    • Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Report safety issues or concerns to management.
    Requirements:1-5 years of solid Accounting experience
    • Prefer Bachelor's degree in Accounting
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
    • High attention to detail and completion of tasks with high accuracy
    • Strong work ethic and ability to consistently meet deadlines
    • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history
