- Engineer has the ability to lead a small client/client team (1-2 staff), small projects, or portions of a large project utilizing their experience and education in structural analysis and structural design using concrete, steel, wood, cold formed steel and masonry. Engineer shall have a strong understanding of how buildings are constructed.
- Engineer shall have a good understanding of structural software programs, such as RAM Structural Systems, Enercalc, RAM Element, RAM Concept and apply the output to the design of the project.
- Engineer has working knowledge of national code standards.
- Engineer can work in an independent manner on several projects under the direct supervision of the EOR or project structural engineer.
- Engineer will work with Structural Engineer and/or Structural Design Lead to communicate with client, deliver completed construction documents, and assist in construction administration as required for most project types.
- Engineer shall be good in AutoCAD and REVIT. Engineer shall be able to train employees on company standards, drafting techniques, and reply to technical questions.
- Engineer will work in a collaborative environment with Architects and other Engineers to develop construction documents based on a clients' requirements, including some basic project management and construction administration functions.
- Engineer will be able to perform quality control of their projects and others, for final review by Engineer of Record.
- Engineer could have direct client contact.
- Engineer will work with Structural Design Lead to establish project budgets, if requested, and be able to work within budgets.
- Engineer shall be able to edit specifications on small to medium projects

Structural Engineer I
HFA has an opening for a Structural Engineer. We seek an individual with relevant technical design experience in wood, steel, masonry and concrete structure design for retail, commercial and industrial buildings. You'll be utilizing your talents for problem solving, finding & understanding problems and finding solutions.
If you like to develop solutions on the fly and creative problem-solve for various building types (we do this every day) and seek empowerment to grow in responsibility, project/program management and people management , this job is for you.
Ideal candidates will have several years of demonstrated experience in REVIT Structural Software. Your ability to: "plug-in and play" with REVIT; draw efficiently; and understand the process of creating construction documents within our team for immediate impact is essential. "Plug-in and play" ability with RAM Steel and Enercalc a plus.
You'll work with experienced structural engineers, architects and sharp young talent eager to grow; applying technical solutions to architectural challenges. This will require the development of designs and detail drawings in REVIT to comply with building and material codes and specifications; provide critical coordination of related disciplines (MEP, Fire Protection and Architecture) within established schedules and budgets; review of construction shop drawings and respond to construction RFI's.
You'll be asked to attend client and prospective client meetings on occasions to share that expertise and be a solution provider.
Finally, you'll perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary, such as as-builts development, building structure assessments and site visits during design and construction.

Education Requirements: Minimum BSCE/BSAE from an Abet Accredited Engineering Program.
MSCE Preferred.
Licensure Requirements: Professional Licensed Engineer
