    Summary/Objective

    The Design Engineer can work within a dynamic group to meet project goals and timelines. The person in this position must be well organized, detail oriented, and have the flexibility to handle multiple project assignments.

    Essential Functions

    1. This position is responsible for creating R&D for the Ranch Hand aftermarket product.
    2. 2D/3D drawings and layouts using SolidWorks.
    3. Specifications including sheet steel and plastics.
    4. Cost estimates and bill of materials
    5. Develop complete design packages which include drawings, renderings, STEP models, etc.
    6. Plans and executes the presentation of arrangements in graphic form or in detailed models.
    7. Plans, organizes, and coordinates workload to achieve objectives.
    8. Collects, reads, interprets, and sees related reference documents and drawings prepared by OEM Designers and other engineering professionals.
    9. Ensures compliance with approved design standards to provide quality design, safety, constructability, reliable operation, construction economy and operating convenience.
    10. Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings, and design documents for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality as observed in finished product audits.
    11. Assist others with production issues.
    12. Helps others collect or deliver design and engineering data at job sites or client offices.
    13. Frequent contact and interaction with production, purchasing, and direct supervisor.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work could also become necessary.

    Travel

    Minimal local travel.

    Required Education and Experience

    1. BE/BSE or higher education. Four years related experience and/or training specialized in drafting, design, and engineering practices; or
    2. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
    3. Ability to read and interpret documents.
    4. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    1. Manufacturing/industry experience.
    2. Experience working with multiple discipline projects.
    3. Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and SolidWorks
    4. Organizational skills, communication proficiency, initiative, thoroughness, and time management.

    Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
