    POSITION SUMMARY

    MFN drivers play a pivotal role as ambassadors of our organization, embodying our mission to serve families and individuals while adhering to all food safety protocols for the handling and distribution of food. Candidates are required to possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) along with meeting specific driver qualifications and permits. Effective communication with fellow staff members, partner agencies, and donors is an essential skill expected of our drivers.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Comply with all AIB regulations and adhere to food safety compliance standards.
    • Conduct routine safety inspections of equipment in alignment with company SOPs and OSHA regulations.
    • Execute timely product deliveries per the established schedule, support unloading processes, and maintain accurate invoices.
    • Exhibit professional communication with DC staff, including proactive notification to the Transportation Manager if any delays for scheduled pickups or drop-offs occur.
    • Collaborate effectively with team members, demonstrating courteous interaction with donors, agency representatives, and customers.
    • Adhere to traffic safety regulations at all times and promptly report any unsafe vehicle or road conditions to the transportation manager and relevant authorities.
    • Perform additional assigned duties as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Possess a minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent GED) and two years of professional truck driving experience, ideally within the food or food-related sector.
    • Hold a valid D.O.T. Certified Class A driver's license along with a valid medical card.

    Demonstrate certification and proficiency in operating a 53-foot tractor-trailer and a 24-foot box truck.

    • Exhibit familiarity with Mississippi's laws, roadways, and geographical terrain.
    • Be open to undergoing MVR background checks and drug testing during pre-employment stages, with a willingness to participate in random testing thereafter.
    • Experience with lift gates is advantageous.
    • Previous expertise in handling heavy pallets using an electric pallet jack and executing deliveries with a dolly.
    • Capable of lifting objects weighing up to 100 pounds while working in varying outdoor and indoor conditions.
