- To evaluate, treat, and diagnose clients who have a mental health disorder or dually-diagnosed
- Provides individual and group psychotherapy services
- Provides brief intervention and crisis intervention as needed
- Conducts initial patient assessments, psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans
- Keep records such as bio-psycho-history & assessments, evaluations and keep client case records current according to the established guidelines
- Makes appropriate referrals for clients, including psychiatric (within or outside of agency)
- Other duties as assigned and abides by agency's policies and procedures and Behavioral Health Department Policies and Procedures.
- Master's degree school psychology from a Maryland program approved to lead to licensure required; Doctorate degree preferred.
- Must possess an independent license to practice such as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LGADC, LGPC, LCADC, and/ or LCPC
- Independent and effective problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with a teamwork approach

POSITION SUMMARY
The Mental Health Therapist provides provides individual and group psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and adults. As a member of a multidisciplinary team, provides clinical consultations with medical providers. Additionally provides brief and crisis interventions to primary care patients as needed.
This position will work with the Correctional Education - Special Education Services Division.
