    Overview



    In the Production Supervisor role you will have accountability to lead and direct manufacturing activities to produce parts safely, within quality standards, on schedule and while meeting cost objectives.





    Responsibilities



    Synchronize efforts between manufacturing, scheduling, manufacturing engineering, and quality to maximize customer satisfaction while meeting operational objectives.
  • Monitor and meet daily operational excellence objectives which include safety, quality, delivery productivity and inventory requirements, while ensuring production volumes meet customer needs.
  • Maintain high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards relative to assigned departments.
  • Lead CI activities for the assigned department regarding safety, quality, delivery, productivity, scrap reduction, inventory and preventive maintenance by using all lean tools.
  • Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan relative to assigned departments.
  • Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.
  • Directly supervises department employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with MEC's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training, and hiring employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, addressing employee issues, and upholding safety and quality guidelines.
  • Address management, quality and team member concerns and complaints to resolve problems in a positive and constructive manner.





    Qualifications



    Ideally, we are looking for candidates who have a minimum of an associate's degree in a related field or 3 to 5 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with metal fabrication, welding, assembly, and paint along with experience with quality improvement tools (Lean Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) is also required. Since you will part of a team in this role, you will need to be a solid communicator with excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop and motivate a team.
