Job Description
Wentworth Institute of Technology's School of Computing & Data Science invites applications for an open-rank position in Cybersecurity beginning August 31, 2024.
This individual will be responsible for:
Teaching both undergraduate and master's level information technology and cybersecurity courses
Engaging in research and scholarly activity
Performing service to the university and the profession, which includes academic advising, student engagement, and serving on committees.
Required Education: M.S. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related discipline.
Preferred Education:Ph.D. in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related discipline.

Founded in 1904, Wentworth Institute of Technology is an independent,
co-educational, nationally ranked university offering career-focused education through 24 bachelor's and 13 master's degree programs in areas including Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Architecture, Design, and Construction Management. Recent new programs include both a B.S. and M.S. in Data Science, launched in 2023 and 2021 respectively.
The School of Computing & Data Science consists of 30+ full-time faculty that offer undergraduate majors in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, Data Science, and Applied Mathematics and graduate degrees in Applied Computer Science, Data Science, and Cybersecurity Analytics. The school has teaching and research strengths in artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, high-performance computing, mobile/web application development, stochastic processes, dynamical systems, financial math and modeling. In addition, members of the school have close collaborative relationships with faculty in sciences, humanities, and electrical and computer engineering, among others.
Minimum Education Required: Master's degree
Preferred Education: Doctoral degree
Minimum Work Experience Required: 3-5 years
Preferred Work Experience: 5-8 years
Minimum Knowledge Required: Comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts and practices and ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations.

Advertised Minimum Qualifications:
● Demonstrated success in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
● Demonstrated success with research and scholarly activities related to Cybersecurity or Information Technology.
● Demonstrated practical/ industry experience.
● Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Advertised Preferred Qualifications:
Particular attention will be given to candidates with a background in cybersecurity, offensive security, network security, software security, malware analysis, digital forensics or information technology. However, candidates with any computational background are encouraged to apply.
