Description:

Camp Aristotle is a unique summer camp program that offers full-day and half-day options for students in primary and secondary education. Camp Aristotle offers an socially-based curriculum with rotating opportunities that can include some of the following on a rotational basis each year; in art, adventure, coding, comics, creating, exploring, gardening,puzzles,escaperooms,moviecreation,newsbroadcasting,photography,musicappreciation, space exploration, fantastic beasts, gaming, science, theater, and more. Social learning/pragmatics, executive functioning support and self-regulation development is integratedthroughout thecurriculum.Manystudentsat CampAristotle experiencechallengesassociated with High Functioning Autism, Anxiety-Related Disorders, ADHD, NVLD, Sensory Processing, and Expressive & Receptive Communication Challenges; however, not all campers have a formal diagnosis.

Position:

Weareseekingsummer campteachersforourcampus.Teacherswillworkasteamsinacollaborativeenvironment with instructional assistants and other related services providers. Responsibilities includeplanning and implementing daily lessons and activities with an inclusion of the weekly themes andattending staff meetings.·Lead the planning and implementation of daily lessons and activities based on weekly themes·Attendingstaff meetings ·Lead homeroom team meetings with Asst Teacher ·Arrive on time and remain through the end of the day (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)·Participate in Student Support Teams·Lead the design and communication of weekly newsletters and parent communications. ·Collaborate with Teacher, Camp Director and summer staff to ensure a safe, productive environment. ·Support the collection of data based on point sheets, attendance and contribute to anecdotal observational descriptions for parent communications ·Maintain a clean and organized classroom and school building. ·Attend training for verbal de-escalation, First Aid, Auburn Summer Camp Model and behavior management. ·Complete forms for fingerprint clearance and CPS clearance·Must be comfortable working a diversity of children who many exhibit dysregulatory behaviors (screaming, swearing, hitting, eloping and other low to moderate level disruptive behaviors)·Must maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times Staff can be reassigned in a as needed basis within camp based on the needs of students and staffing

We are seeking applicants who are passionate about helping students learn, have fun, developfriendships,and take risks.CampAristotleislookingforenthusiastic,energetic,creative, andqualifiedindividualswhoenjoyworkingwith children.·Bachelor'sdegreerequired,Master'sdegree(orcourseworktowardMaster's)preferred.·Trackrecordofsuccessfulteachingand/orcampexperience.·Experience withAutismSpectrumDisorder(ASD),ADHDand/or NVLDstronglypreferred.·Experience withmultisensoryinstructionandassistivelearning technologiesis alsohelpful.

Soundunderstandingof,andsensitivityto,childrenand adolescentswithspeciallearningchallenges.

Comfortablecommunicatingwithparentsasneeded.

Strongbehaviormanagementskills.Experience withABAand/orsociallearningtrainingisaplus.

Compensation:

This is an hourly rate position at 23$/HRSpecialized Education Services, Inc.
