We are hiring an Infectious Disease and Health Information Specialist to join our International Health Unit in Boone, NC.

This role provides global surveillance of infectious disease(s) and supports the management of the Travel Health Assistance activities for the Projects department staff and volunteers.

Come bring your health expertise to review global infectious disease data sources and manage electronic communication, electronic databases, electronic record keeping, supporting documentation, and more.

A day in the life of an Infectious Disease and Health Information Specialist:

In the role of Infectious Disease and Health Information Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:

Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him

Manage Travel Health Assistance database records for the Projects department, including performing regular record audits

Monitoring and evaluation of infectious disease threats globally through continual assessment of infectious disease outbreak information resources

Ownership of the Infectious Disease Outbreak dashboard, including evaluation and interpretation of infectious disease outbreak data to ensure timely notification of infectious disease events of concern to the ministry operations, staff, or beneficiaries

Manage electronic communication and documentation with Projects staff and volunteers, domestic and international, as related to Travel Health Assistance, to ensure Projects Department travelers are provided accurate and timely infectious disease health related information and support

Review, manage infectious disease data set, and report on country level infectious disease data

Provide weekly reporting for both epidemiology/infectious disease and Travel Health Assistance

Provide assistance on health information systems and clinical templates used for programs worldwide

Serve on the Incident Management Team (IMT) to support staffing and deployment of Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) members in relation to the scope of Travel Health Assistance, specifically accurate and timely infectious disease health threats

Occasional deployment for infectious disease responses to provide infectious disease programmatic support

All other duties as assigned
