    We're looking for a Staff Analytics Engineer with a strong background in data model design and experience with cloud data warehouse products to help us create foundational data assets and create guidance for all data at Checkr.


    Responsibilities:
    You will help bridge the gap between understanding business needs and knowing how to craft efficient, usable data models and visualizations to be leveraged by the entire company and external facing customers
    Partner with multiple product managers, engineers, and source system subject matter experts on different projects to provide data sources, dashboards, and insights into product feature success
    Publish trusted data models by developing new or consolidating and optimizing existing data sources that enable self-service for Checkrs to find the answers they need
    Select data schemas and guidance for all data analysts at Checkr
    Work on high-impact projects that improve data availability and quality, and provide reliable access to data for the rest of the business
    Have a strong point of view on what data to prioritize
    Rapidly deliver on concepts through prototypes that can be presented for feedback
    Train and mentor employees on best practices for data modeling
    Document data requirements and processes to bring transparency and ensure data integrity with privacy by design

    What you bring:


    7+ years of industry-related experience in a data engineering, BI analyst, or analytics engineer role and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

    Ability to translate business processes and data into analytics solutions.
    Strong background in dimensional modeling and data warehousing concepts.
    Experience in managing databases, including relational database architecture, query optimization, and database schema design.
    Conceive, implement and maintain data models or views that simplify reporting, expand access to insights, and support ongoing analysis and reporting
    Expertise with data modeling via SQL transformation with best practices to ensure top performance and optimization
    Extra bonus if you have
    Experience with DBT, Snowflake, Looker, Airflow
    Experience working with APIs or unstructured data
    Experience building data service layer for custom applications
