    About the Job

    We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Network Engineer to be an important part of our team. The Sr. Network Engineer will be responsible for leading the Network Engineering team with IP POP and Data Center commissioning, Design and Implementation of network elements in city-wide fiber networks, and Research and Development of new technologies to enable connected communities. This opportunity sits at the top of Cityside Fibers Network Engineering team. The Network Engineering team is responsible for Network design, operations, and troubleshooting for all IP network infrastructure. The objective of this position is to build a strong network topology to implement and maintain a world-class fiber-to-the-home Internet Service Provider. To be successful in this role you will have at least 5 years of experience in Telecommunications Network Engineering. You will operate in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment and excel in hitting the Companys objectives. To be successful you will have superior communication and organizational skills.

    Responsibilities

    • Understand Cityside Fibers core purpose and values and be passionate about what we do
    • Design and implement a core and distribution network architecture to support a Fiber-to-the-Premises ISP, DWDM, and Dark Fiber operation.
    • Design and implement a distribution network architecture
    • Data center commissioning.
    • Network POP location configuration
    • Develop procedures for network equipment software upgrade testing and implementation.
    • Work in and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and integrity with fellow employees to ensure the overall success of Cityside Fiber

    Minimum Qualifications

    High energy individual who is willing to be an integral part of a high growth service provider who puts people first, dares to be different and has fun disrupting an industry

    A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Related Work Experience

    5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in a telecoms ISP environment.

    Experience communicating to and collaborating with cross-functional teams

    Ability to work well under pressure

    Proven history of excellent customer service and ability to build relationships

    Excellent organizational skills- Ability to multi-task and be highly responsive to internal and external clients

    Demonstrated intense customer focus

    Demonstrated highest level of integrity, intellectual honesty and strong work ethic

    Takes initiative. Doesnt wait to be asked. Plans efficiently while avoiding analysis paralysis

    Preferred Qualifications

    Proven history of supervision in field operations

    Strong knowledge of the fiber internet market and technology trends

    Sharp, analytical, and thoughtful. Has sound judgment and ability to be right a lot

    Consistent effort, intense commitment, and willingness to go above and beyond when needed

    Strong team player, acts like an owner, and ultimately focused on delivering results with high standards

    Ability to follow Key Performance Indicators that outline a high-availability network design.

    Direct experience creating a segment routable Dual-Homed ISP network.

    Direct experience designing and implementing DWDM networks

    Valid Drivers License

    Location

    This location is based out of our Irvine, CA offices. May be required to travel to project/customer sites to fulfill job responsibilities.
