    Senior Database Administrator


    The Senior DBA will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations and management of enterprise-level production database systems, both on-premise and in the cloud.

    Candidates must be able to lead and mentor a team of engineers focused on deploying, configuring, managing, and testing installations, as well as managing upgrades, replication, and backup and recovery of current databases.

    This role will work closely with RandD leaders to provide guidance, develop DB standards, and create data governance policies. Our ideal candidate will be local to Troy, Michigan and will work in the office 3 days per week.

    Location Troy, Michigan Travel 0-5% Responsibilities * Act as a thought leader on migrating from SQL Server to other DB technologies * Setup and optimize SQL Server standard and SQL AG * Setup SQL AG to scale as multi-tenant in the cloud * Perform manual as well as scheduled/automated backups and restores of Production and non-production databases.

    * Utilize industry standard tools, cloud service provider native portals and features, and/or other third-party client approved tools necessary to provide operations, maintenance, and migration support services.

    * Troubleshoot complex SQL queries and problems, * Provide incident support and analysis services * Provide log and error reporting information to colleagues, customers and support organizations as needed * Support day-to-day operations and management of enterprise-level production database management systems.

    * Define data integrity management policies * Tune and monitor database performance * Manage replication, backup, and recovery of current databases * Develop processes and procedures to proactively monitor DB health * Create and maintain documentation for cloud database operations in accordance with industry standards and best practices.

    Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, software engineering, or similar degree, or comparable work experience * 10+ years of experience as a DBA SQL Server and cloud experience a must, AWS preferred * Well versed in DB cloud technologies and ability to provide leadership and guidance to others * Ability to lead and mentor a team of database focused engineers * Ability to work with leaders across RandD to develop database best practices and governance #LI-LS1#LI-Hybrid State-Specific Salary Range Disclosure Requirements Salary will generally fall between $81,565 - $160,000 before adjustment for geographic differences.
