- Candidate will be routing deliveries, tracking vehicles, performing account maintenance and addressing problems and requests as well as providing solutions.
- Heavy interactions with drivers, customers, and office staff.
- Dispatch deliveries in an efficient and profitable manner.
- Ability to communicate with drivers, customers, peers, and management.
- Maintain and review driver DOT logs.
- Monitor vehicle tracking system (Samsara) software.
- Establish cost-effective delivery routes and schedules.
- Establish performance standards for drivers.
- Review driver delivery paperwork for accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain relationships with customers and resolve delivery complaints.
- Investigate and resolve delivery issues, spills, and accidents.
- Must be flexible and available to work evenings and weekends, dispatch is a 24-hour operation, and therefore this position may require irregular hours when the rotation is scheduled.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience dispatching and or supervising drivers.
- Experience with vehicle tracking systems, order entry, and dispatching software.
- Knowledge of DOT rules/regs, transport trucks and e-logs.
- In addition to being an excellent communicator, the ideal candidate will also demonstrate superb organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to answer multiple phone calls in a busy setting.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Accurate data entry.
- Computer literate and competency with Microsoft Office programs, Excel, Outlook and Word.
