    Join our forward-thinking team dedicated to shaping the future of solar racking and associated products. As a Structural Engineer, you'll collaborate with a diverse team to conduct essential calculations, analysis, testing, and documentation crucial for solar racking design. As the resident expert, you'll ensure compliance with building codes and standards while contributing to the development of innovative solar tracking solutions. Your role will involve participating in technical design reviews, suggesting procedural updates, providing cross-departmental technical support, and occasional travel, including overnight stays. With a hybrid work schedule requiring office presence 2-3 days per week, this opportunity offers the chance to make a significant impact in the renewable energy sector.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in Structural or Civil Engineering
    • Proficiency in hot-rolled and cold-formed steel design, foundation design, and US building codes
    • Experience in SAP or ETABs, finite element analysis, and programming
    • Familiarity with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and probability/statistics
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
    • U.S. passport or ability to obtain one for international travel
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Direct experience with Solar Racking Structures, especially solar trackers
    • Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Structural engineering preferred
    • Familiarity with global building codes, particularly Brazil, Europe, and Italy
    • Knowledge of design standards and test protocols in the solar industry
    • Experience with wind tunnel testing and performance-based engineering
    • Automation of design calculations/processes
    • Experience in developing testing protocols and specifications
    • Knowledge of material specification and manufacturing techniques
    The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in Colorado is $84, $131, Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Valmont Industries considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope of responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. The position will be posted until filled.
