- Estimate materials, labor, and equipment time for projects based on construction codes and specifications.
- Review plans and specifications to determine appropriate methods of construction.
- Apply knowledge of construction materials and trades to calculate costs of building projects.
- Review plans and specifications to determine appropriate methods of construction.
- Calculate material quantities for a variety of projects based on blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions from project managers.
- Prepare contract pricing proposals for a variety of construction projects.
- Prepare subcontractor bidding documents.
- 1-3 years of estimating experience; ground-up projects included.
- Experience with estimating using Bluebeam,
- Able to calculate SF takeoffs (drywall, flooring, base etc)
- Proficient using Excel.
- Able to use formulas to calculate take-offs.
- Exceptional computer skills and comfortable learning new software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong follow up skills.
- Enjoy a positive, team-centered, collaborative work style while still able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- College degree preferred (or equivalent experience with HS diploma).
- Ability to work in an office and in the field in a fast paced environment.
