    Job DescriptionThe Research Assistant participates in a variety of independent activities involved in planning, organizing, and conducting assigned portion(s) of research studies.
    Minimum Education & Experience
    Bachelor's Degree in Social Science, Medical or related field.
    Research or analytical experience preferred
    Maintains current knowledge of research study area including attending scientific/professional meetings and training courses as appropriate
    Able to take initiative and work interdependently, meet deadlines with a sense of urgency, multi-task, adjust to shifting priorities, communicate effectively, and work under defined rules and regulations
    Detail-oriented, uses good judgement, possesses perseverance and persistence
    Preferred Education & Experience
    2 years' experience with adult and/or adolescent mental health population.
    Knowledge & Skills
    Business/Supervisory
    (Management principles, regulations, laws, funding, budgeting, etc.)
    Familiar with the Baker Act and Marchman Act.
    Demonstrate the ability to interpret and abide by confidentiality laws, abuse reporting guidelines and client rights requirements and abide by a code of ethical and practice standards.
    Written & Verbal Communications (Forms completed, letters composed, policies developed; exchange of information, counseling, etc.)
    Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
    Ability to communicate effectively with professionals, team members, clients and families.
    Ability to write assessments in a clear and concise format.
    Ability to write/compose correspondence and policies, etc.
    Functional, Specialized, & Technical (Office skills, PC, typing, programming, bookkeeping, accounting, claims processing, maintenance, etc.)

    Responsibilities
    • Participates in the coordination of sharing information, lending assistance, and solving problems with other team members, as needed
    • Performs a variety of independent activities involved in the collection, verification, analysis, documentation, and interpretation of research data
    • Selects sources of information and specific data
    • Prepares correspondence to locate the specific data
    • Evaluates and interprets collected data, and prepares presentations, reports, and analyses describing progress, trends, and recommendations or conclusions
    • Collaborates with investigators and other team members in developing plans, organization, implementation, and monitoring for research projects, interpretation of results, and preparation of manuscripts or reports
    • Sets-up related interviews, as appropriate
    • Participates in compilation/writing of integrated reports and preparation of presentations and manuscripts of scientific meetings and technical journals
    • Organizes and conducts assigned studies, independently, following and adhering to current experimental protocols. Initial set-up and/or results may be reviewed
    • Learns, researches, and recommends new experimental procedures, as necessary
    • Develops forms and questionnaires, and coordinates the application of research techniques, as necessary
    • Ensures work is in compliance with the currently approved protocols, with Good Clinical Research Practices (GCP), and with applicable regulatory requirements
    • Participates in design and writing of protocols, case report forms, and informed consent forms for clinical trials
    • Maintain records including progress notes and routine assessments in a timely manner in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform.
    • Participate in the collaborative treatment planning process.
    • Participate in weekly team meetings.
    • Receive monthly individual program supervision for one hour provided by the Director.
    • Participate in the Staff Development programs provided by the agency.
