    Role Summary/Purpose:

    The VP, Release Train Engineer will be responsible for coordination of multiple agile scrum/Kanban teams executing on Cloud initiatives in Engineering. This role is responsible for collaborating with, scrum masters, product owners, program managers and business leaders in setting the cross-team roadmap for Engineering cloud journey and leading agile teams to deliver.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Provide vision, leadership, and strategy to drive Cloud program for the Engineering organization.
    • Engages and collaborates with Migration Management Office, Technology leads and other stakeholders to deliver solutions.
    • People management for the team: Regularly communicates with team about the day-to-day activities; coaches on different business tasks; offers feedback for teams and individuals; leads by example; solicits feedback from employees; compensation planning and performance management
    • Drives all phases of agile development cycle providing vision, leadership, and strategy to deliver technology solutions/systems and operating rhythm that will meet Synchrony and regulatory expectations.
    • Interact with business users to gather/validate requirements/epics and develop detailed roadmap that meets business objectives
    • Manage Program Increment (PI) planning process including the management of Agile ceremonies, support ART backlog refinement/prioritization and coordinate planning with other ARTs
    • Champions and ensures compliance with the Agile management methodologies and the Agile Management Office processes, standards and tools (ex: Confluence, Jira, Jira Align)
    • Financial planning and ownership of operating and program budgets
    • Manage 3rd party teams required to support key Cloud initiatives
    • Strong analytical and technical skill set used to drive requirements, testing and production validation.
    • Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance of application release management, outage management and change processes and standards.
    • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of Technology experience or equivalent leadership program experience or in lieu of degree High School Diploma/GED and 9 years of IT experience
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in developing and implementing information systems
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and/or scrum master with strong understanding of Agile
    • 3+ years as a Release Train Engineer, Solution Train Engineer or SAFe Product Manager working within the SAFe agile framework
    • Specific experience defining, measuring and reporting KPI's
    • Building roadmaps and defined releases with program increments
    • Experience partnering with data analytic teams for measurement and alignment
    • Experienced working with cross functional teams

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Experience working in Cloud
    • Excellent written, verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Demonstrated experience communicating complex and technical issue to a diverse audience
    • Demonstrated experience with time management, project prioritization, delivering on time and successfully completed project deliverables for multiple projects simultaneously
    • Deep experience with Agile methodology
    • Proven relationship building and active listening skills
    • Demonstrated ability to manage complex initiatives and projects in a matrixed environment.
    • Strategic thinking with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results.
    • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions in a fast-changing environment.
    • Critical thinking and creativity

    Grade/Level: 13

    The salary range for this position is 130, ,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

    Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

    Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

    Eligibility Requirements:

    • You must be 18 years or older
    • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
    • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
    • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
    • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
