    Description


    Are you an experienced Diesel Mechanic looking for an opportunity expand your career and grow within a great organization? Solar Transport is looking to add a Diesel Mechanic to the Des Moines team The Diesel Mechanic will perform daily routine maintenance and inspections on our Solar fleet ensuring optimal performance.

    If you are a self-motivated and dependable Diesel Mechanic with at least three years of experience, apply todayWhat you'll do Perform basic truck maintenance services including, but not limited to: tire mounting and repair, blow down / degas trailers, troubleshoot and repair ABS, troubleshoot and repair air systems, perform FHWA inspections, brake repair and replacement, and clutch adjusting, A/C certification, Hendrickson / Ride Well suspension rebuilds, perform alignments, water pump replacement, fan hub replacement, new truck set upsDiagnose standard mechanical and electric problems, utilizing diagnostic computer with programs such as Cummins Insite, ESA, etc.

    Perform inspections and prepare appraisal reportsEnsure proper and accurate documentation of all maintenance performedDetermine the reusability of parts in accordance with the published warranty guidelinesCommunicate with Truck Shop Manager regarding if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised timelineMaintain a safe and clean work environmentSchedule:
    Day shift with an occasional SaturdayWhat we're looking for3+ yrs.

    experience as a diesel mechanic with preventive maintenance and heavy equipment repairs preferredTanker experience and CDL preferredA/C CertifiedExperience with Intraxx Suspension Bushings preferredCompetenciesExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including strong listening skillsPractice operating independently without the need for continuous oversight or directionA history of taking the initiative to identify and solve work-related problemsProven ability to effectively prioritize and balance competing needsAbout Solar Transport and Krause Group Solar Transport is a family focused company.
