    Job Summary

    Kilgore College has multiple campuses to include the main campus and the Longview Campus. Kilgore College's campus housing consists of multiple dormitories with over 500 students living in them. This position will be supervised by the KC Police Department and will work cooperatively with the KC Residential Life staff. Full time Campus safety officers will be primarily stationed at the Longview Campus, but may serve in other areas, including the residence halls, as needed.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    These are full time positions providing day, evening, and night time safety services to students primarily at the Longview Campus, but may also be assigned to the residence facilities on the Kilgore College campus, and may serve in other areas as needed. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring a safe and secure classroom and residential environment for students; patrolling buildings and grounds to check for potential security and safety hazards; enforcing rules and regulations of KC; reporting irregularities, emergencies and suspicious activities to the appropriate office; and other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications and Skills

    A high school diploma or equivalent, possession of a valid driver's license, and eligibility to drive a college owned and/or leased motor vehicle are required. Candidates must successfully pass a thorough background investigation prior to employment. Working conditions will require driving, walking, running, standing, stooping, climbing, crouching, pushing, jumping over, pulling, carrying, reaching above head, lifting, lowering, hand-wrist and elbow motion, grasping, and holding. Successful candidates must be able to provide creditable testimony in a court of law, as needed, and be able to operate a hand-held radio. Successful candidates will possess a high energy level with innovative approaches to address student issues and challenges; possess excellent verbal communication skills; and have the ability to relate to an ethnically diverse college community.

    Positions will remain open until filled. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment.
