    Insurance Eligibility Specialist

    A top medical center is urgently hiring

    Description: The Eligibility Specialist/Authorization Coordinator will perform all routine verification functions in addition to other duties for authorizations and referrals clearance.

    • Verifies insurance eligibility, benefits, pre-certifications, prior authorizations, and referrals requirements for scheduled outpatient services via telephone and/or insurance websites.
    • Obtains patient information to facilitate the verification of the unique patient identifiers for clinical purposes, the billing and collections process, and compliance with state and federal regulator requirements.
    • Evaluates eligibility for alternate sources of financing care and refers to appropriate agency where possible.
    • Obtains any required pre-certifications, prior authorizations, and referrals from insurance companies, primary care physicians, and families.
    • Estimates self-pay portions after benefits have been determined (e.g., deductibles, co-pays, non-covered services, etc.).
