Description
The Shareholder Data Analyst (Analyst) is responsible for performing multifaceted analyses on Shareholder records and pending/open estate case files for work strategy guidance for department leadership.
The Analyst works from database reports and queries to identify next steps in the areas of estate checklist and worksheet creation, beneficiary identification, custody determination, outreach, and related held/aging funds disbursement.
Includes internet research and dossier compilation to support the Life Estate and Technology Manager's work with outside private investigation partners.
The Analyst researches familial relationships among Shareholders and creates database links based on the research findings.This position interfaces with the Life Estate team and the Stock Management teams as needed, to get assistance with complicated questions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintain awareness of Calista's cyber- and information-security standards and protocols as they relate to protection of Personally Identifiable Information.
Draft step-by-step operating procedures and forms for new processes.
Run database reports and queries and analyze results, including highlighting exceptions and data integrity issues.
Systematically identify next steps in thousands of open cases, beginning with the oldest and those with highest dollar amount pending in the estate.
Write up detailed analyses and present research findings with clear problem statements, backgrounds, and solutions/next steps.For cases where internal information is insufficient, perform internet research, identify outreach opportunities that can be assigned to outreach staff, and support the creation of dossiers for private investigation.
Participate in regular review meetings to present new findings and recommendations and review progress on past recommendations for ongoing cases.
Search for database entities by multiple means, including unique codes, names, and enrollment numbers.Perform family tree data research tasks, which includes review of electronic and paper files.
Double-check document validation against acceptance criteria.
Prepare all research material before creation of family tree relationships and keep it organized. Maintain custody and store all material securely, including locking items away in desk drawers at end of shift.
Utilize Family Tree Maker to create graphical family trees for case files.
Write detailed research narratives, with color-coded information and action items.
Create family tree relationships in the Shareholder management system, including biological and adoptive information.
Select constraints and run database report, then verify report data against source documents. Make necessary corrections and reverify.
Report on family tree relationship creation status and case analysis to Life Estate and Technology Manager monthly and/or as requested to support ad-hoc needs.
Other data projects as assigned.Serve as a collaborative team member and consult Life Estate and Stock Management staff as needed, to seek guidance on complicated questions.
Ensure all printed materials are shredded per department guidelines.Represent Calista Corporation in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Display confidence, competency, and enthusiasm through work and communication.
Maintain strict confidentiality of Shareholder and company information.
Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Knowledge of Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) and ability to adhere to Alaska statutes related to Shareholder records.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of Shareholder and company information.
Ability to adhere to corporate policies and procedures including employee handbooks and safety rules.
Solid data research skills to evaluate data to a validation standard.
Organizations skills to aggregate and analyze data and present findings in a template.
Critical thinking skills. Includes the ability to articulate constraints and output of query designs.
Solid administrative skills and ability to perform related tasks and use general office equipment.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with others.
Exceptional time management skills with ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and processes.
Effective oral and technical written communication skills to effectively and clearly communicate and present complex information to others.
Ability to accurately type at least 45 WPM and use keyboards and 10-key by touch as confirmed by skills testing.
Ability to work quickly with high levels of accuracy while entering data into computer software applications.Ability to stay poised and adapt to changes in tasks in the work environment; manage competing demands, change approach to best fit the situation, and adjust to delays.
Ability to work in a Team environment and ask for and offer help when needed.Ability to use good judgment and make appropriate decisions.
Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Undergraduate coursework in mathematics, use of technology in the workplace, and written communications and strategies required.
Technical or vocational certification training in office administration and/or computer technology or data system analysis or equivalent experience required.
One or more years of customer case management and scheduling required.
One or more years of administrative or customer service experience requiring high levels of accuracy required.
Proven work experience requiring the use of a computer and business software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with relational databases required.
A sound understanding of Calista Corporation and Calista's functions.
A sound understanding of or willingness to learn about and respect the Calista region, communities, entities, culture, and especially Calista Shareholders and their descendants.
Familiarity with Calista values strongly preferred.Fluency in the Yup'ik or Cup'ik and English languages preferred.
Ability to pass a drug, credit, and background screening.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The Shareholder Services Team is customer service driven. Must be willing and able to work in fast-paced environment requiring high-volume efficient and effective performance.
Although the standard work week is scheduled at 40 hours, additional hours may be required to meet application performance targets.
Must be able to adapt to revised schedules.PREFERENCE STATEMENT
