    Senior Accountant (Part-time)
    • Location: Alexandria, VA/Washington DC Metropolitan Area, Hybrid
    • Salary: $40 to $43 per hour, DOE
    • Hours/Schedule: Part-time hours per week (Monday through Friday, 3 to 5 hours per day) Remote in 2024 and Hybrid starting early days per week in office
    The Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) is the Voice of Brain Injury. We are dedicated to increasing access to quality health care and raising awareness and understanding of brain injury through advocacy, education, and research. With a nationwide network of state affiliates, local chapters, and support groups, we provide help, hope, and healing to individuals who live with brain injury, their families, and the professionals who serve them.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
    • Works closely with Director of Finance & Operations to ensure financial data is accurate and timely, including activities such as overseeing billing & payables, journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet review.
    • Maintains standards of documentation, record-keeping, and internal control as prescribed by BIAA policies and procedures.
    • Manage and monitor daily tasks performed by accounts payable and receivable person, including order receipt and processing.
    • Performs or assists in month-end closing.
    • Ensures the smooth flow of the office, including tasks alignment, coverage, cross-training, and others.
    • Responsible for preparation and distribution of routine and standardized financial reports and correspondence.
    • Supports Time & Attendance recordkeeping system, for accurate payroll processing and labor distribution costs.
    • Additional responsibilities, as directed.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
    • Ability to coordinate, oversee and monitor the work of one administrative person.
    • Good verbal & written communication.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate courtesy and tact when interacting with other employees.
    • Good organization skills; attention to detail and accuracy; ability to work on multiple tasks.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field.
    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years prior office and accounting/booking experience.
    • Prior experience with QuickBooks online is required.
    • Experience with Donor Perfect software and government/State contracts billings is preferred.
