Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements as a host or hostess when needed
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and presentation
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales through suggestive selling techniques like OpenTable reservations or special promotions
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for bills and tips
- Clear tables promptly by bussing dishes and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to uphold sanitation standards
- Support kitchen staff with food preparation or food handling tasks during busy periods when necessary
Skills
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant operations, or hospitality environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs
- Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms for order entry and payment processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle guest relations professionally
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation protocols, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to manage time effectively during high-volume periods while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with food preparation tasks or kitchen experience is a plus for supporting team needs
- Excellent communication skills coupled with basic math proficiency for cashiering and billing tasks
