    The Senior Philanthropy Advisor is responsible for planning and implementing strategy for major, planned and special, targeted giving programs through strategic donor relationship management (identify, cultivate, solicit, steward, upgrade) to meet short- and long-term goals of the organization.Working with Board members, volunteers and staff, the Senior Philanthropy Advisor plays a critical role in increasing individual donor and foundation support and acts as an ambassador for the Tidewell Foundation across the community.

    This role supports Manatee, DeSoto and Charlotte Counties.

    JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Maintain a personal portfolio of current donors and prospects, including individuals and foundations; communicate with portfolio constituents through face-to-face relationship-building meetings and written strategies; ensure that a clear strategy and timeline for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship is in place for each major donor and prospect. Promotes and practices the Hospice mission and values and follows policies and procedures of Tidewell Hospice and the Tidewell Foundation.
    2. Manages a personal portfolio of approximately 150 major gift prospects and donors.
    3. Meets the minimum annual fundraising goal defined for the Senior Philanthropic Advisor.
    4. Identifies, qualifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards prospects and donors with an emphasis of giving at $10,000 or more.
    5. Completes 140 personal visits with prospects and donors annually.
    6. Develop solicitation strategies for donors/prospects in support of the organizations' annual, major gifts, Loyal Donor, planned and other specialty giving programs including Women's Giving Network; ensure strategies are compatible and maximize opportunities with other existing campaigns and appeals.
    7. Conceive, plan, and execute a major and planned giving program with the Director of Donor Engagement and Director of Resource Development.
    8. Lead the Individual Giving Team to achieve major gifts, Loyal Donor, special campaign and planned giving goals.
    9. Develop comprehensive retention, stewardship and recognition plan for current donors, converting "occasional" donors to annual donors and annual donors to major or planned giving donors.
    10. With the President, creates and manages budgets for special campaigns; track and report on progress to goal to the Philanthropy Team, including contacts, gifts, pledges and planned gifts.
    11. Support solicitation tracking reports on special campaigns; provide meeting support materials to fundraisers, including talking points, solicitation materials, background, and follow-up proposals.
    12. Work with Foundation staff and volunteers on screening and preparing profiles of current and prospective donors; establish and refine benchmarks for department research processes.
    13. Support the design and implementation of donor recognition strategies and events.Conceive of, plan for, and execute continuous on-going stewardship program.
    14. With the President of Tidewell Foundation design special campaign-related events targeted to current and prospective donors.
    15. Maintain timely recording of all pertinent information related to donor tracking in Raisers Edge CRM Fundraising Software.
    16. Be a visible presence at Empath special events, such as receptions, major donor cultivation and public education events, and fundraisers such as the annual gala.
    17. Participate in Philanthropy Team meetings.
    18. Represent Tidewell Foundation in the community.
    19. All other duties as assigned.
    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
    • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university (Masters and or CFRE preferred); at least 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Superior interpersonal communication, both oral and written, required
    • Supervisory experience required, including oversight of paid staff and volunteers
    • Experience and proficiency with moves management
    • Excellent organizational skills required
    • Fundraising experience required and related work experience, including working with volunteers and leading committees
    • Willing to be hands-on in a role that is demanding and requires a high level of energy and non-regular work schedules
    • Experience and proficiency with The Raiser's Edge and all Microsoft systems including Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
    • Ability to create and write proposals, presentations, foundation grants and donor materials including development of case for support materials
    • Requires ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize assignments in a timely manner to complete assignments when faced with competing deadlines
