    Description

    This position is based at the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center.

    Salary: $45.49 per hour

    CoreCivic is currently looking for Registered Nurses with a strong dedication to delivering top-notch care within a correctional facility environment.

    The ideal candidate should be capable of executing ALL of the following responsibilities at a speed and quality level aligned with the specific job requirements:

    • Apply appropriate nursing skills in the diagnosis and treatment of inmates/residents.
    • Accompany the physician during sick call to assess inmates/residents; organize a list of inmates/residents to be examined; set up the examination room and equipment.
    • Evaluate and diagnose new inmates/residents with medical conditions or injuries or inmates/residents who fall ill or get injured; direct inmates/residents to the ER or other suitable healthcare facilities based on their condition.
    • Perform emergency procedures as necessary and inform the Licensed Independent Provider for treatment instructions.
    • Offer guidance, oversee, and supervise nursing care delivered by licensed vocational/practical nursing personnel and non-licensed medical staff.

    Requirements:

    • Graduate from an accredited college, university, or nursing program with a nursing degree/diploma.
    • Must hold current licensure in the state of work.
    • One (1) year of professional nursing experience is desirable.
    • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
    • Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
