Meter Reader
Key Responsibilities:
The primary duty of this position is to record the consumption of water used by taking readings from meters, cleaning meter boxes and removing vegetation that obstructs access to them.
This role reports directly to the Customer Service Supervisor.
In taking manual readings using a hand-held unit or laptop computer, employees must ensure accurate data entry for billing purposes. Meter Maintenance: Tasks include general maintenance such as clearing sand and debris from meter boxes and removal of some vegetation where necessary for access. Employees also perform regular checks on established routes in vehicles to take precision measurements from meter dials
Possible safety hazards should be immediately reported to our Billing Department including damaged lids, restricted access due to wildlife obstruction or malfunctioning equipment.
