    Clinical Research Coordinator I Description

    General Summary:

    A full-time Clinical Research Coordinator position is available at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)/Harvard Medical school in the laboratories of Drs. Mark Eldaief and Randy Buckner for a research project involving Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS, a form of non-invasive brain stimulation). This project involves studying the mechanisms underlying the efficacy of TMS to treat depression. The project will use functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to precisely map brain networks in depressed patients and non-depressed controls. Next, each of these networks will be precisely stimulated with TMS, and the behavioral and functional effects of these stimulations will be measured with questionnaires and fMRI imaging.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

    · Assist in recruiting patients with depression from the MGH TMS clinic

    · Assist in recruiting non-depressed controls from MGB RALLY

    · Provide basic explanation of the study, and in some cases obtain informed consent from subjects

    · Scan patients post-TMS with functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)

    · Administer and score study questionnaires and study instruments

    · Perform data analysis and QA/QC data checks

    · Assist with updating and maintaining study documents, including creating and maintaining regulatory binders

    · Coordinate and communicate with the MGB Institutional Review Board

    Qualifications

    Work locations:

    · Harvard University Center for Brain Sciences, Cambridge, MA

    · Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Martinos Center for Brain Imaging, Charlestown, MA

    Duration and timing: 2 years, to start immediately.

    Experience/Qualifications:

    · Bachelor's degree

    · Coursework or a major/concentration in psychology or neuroscience preferred

    · Good organizational skills and attention to detail

    · Good communication skills

    · Computer literacy with Word, Excel

    · Ability to demonstrate respect and professionalism in interactions with subjects and lab members

    · Some research experience is ideal but not required
