Application Security AnalystLocation:
Remote (Truist locations – Atlanta, GA; Raleigh, NC; Charlotte, NC; Greenville, NC; Zebulon, NC; Richmond, VA; Orlando, FL)

Role Responsibilities
Manage new API security intake requests, ensuring proper documentation, risk assessment, and tracking.
Coordinate with development teams to gather required technical details for security testing and validation.
Track remediation efforts and ensure timely communication between security and development teams.
Maintain and optimize application security scanning schedules for APIs, containers, and web applications.
Perform and validate DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing) scans, analyze findings, and drive remediation activities.
Perform and validate container security scans, analyze vulnerabilities, and support remediation efforts.
Oversee container security assessments to ensure compliance with organizational security standards.
Document vulnerabilities, generate actionable security reports, and communicate risks effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Support knowledge transfer from outgoing consultants and maintain continuity of established security processes.
Must-Have Skills / Prior Experience
Hands-on experience with API security testing and vulnerability management.
Strong knowledge of DAST tools (e.g., Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP).
Experience with container security (Docker, Kubernetes, image scanning tools such as Anchore or Trivy).
Proven experience managing security intake processes and coordinating across multiple development teams.
Solid understanding of secure coding practices, OWASP Top 10, and API-specific security risks.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt.
Nice-to-Have Skills / Prior Experience
Experience integrating security tools into CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of cloud-native security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and API gateways.
Familiarity with threat modeling and risk assessment methodologies.
Exposure to DevSecOps practices and security automation.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GWAPT, or API Security Specialist.
