    Description

    Essential Job Functions

    This description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications. The job description is not intended to include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future. The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.

    • Ensure that details are followed from the banquet event order (BEO) and check BEO for that days setups in all upcoming functions
    • Review and check all upcoming BEOs and production sheets for shift
    • Unlock meeting room doors, change door cards, check lighting and temperature in meeting rooms
    • Provide guests with the finest quality of service at all times and in a warm and enthusiastic manner
    • Deliver soiled lined to laundry department; determine if linen needs to be washed immediately for next days setup or in the immediate future
    • Assign room clean outs and setups staff
    • Ensure that all catering areas are maintained in a clean, organized and safe condition
    • Ensure that at the close of a function and at the end of the workday, all banquet rooms are cleared and securely locked, with proper room temperature and lights turned off, and ensure all equipment is stored in the designated area
    • At the end of each shit, inspect and make any necessary correction on all work done by setup staff
    • Take ownership of all guest compliment or complaints and relay some to management
    • Submit maintenance request to Banquet Manager/Director of Catering Operations for broken or damaged equipment
    • Assist staff with room setups, food service, and clean up when necessary
    • Maintain Driftwood and hotel standards of food, beverage, and quality guest service
    • Ensure guest satisfaction by delivery of an exceptional product
    • Other duties as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the English language to effectively communicate with guests, associates and vendors
    • Ability to scrupulously follow all Driftwood and hotel policies and procedures
    • Attend all required meetings
    • Able to complete projects/assignments thoroughly, professionally and with care
    • Able to adjust to high-pressure conditions and is open to change
    • Can assume responsibility for personal growth and development
    • Conducts him/herself (acts and dresses) professionally at all times; sets standards for all associates
    • Understands and communicates the Driftwood Mission
    • Expresses ideas and conveys information clearly, effectively and professionally
    • Actively listens to others
    • Must have 50 radio system with ear piece at all time
    • Can convey company information, decision or problems to appropriate parties on a timely basis
    • Works to resolve disagreements and is respectful of peers and co-workers
    • Must have a comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions
    • Must have knowledge of applicable Federal, state and local health, safety and legal regulations
    • Must have good mathematical and computer skills
    • High school education and relevant training and experience preferred
    • Have the ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates
    • Additional language ability preferred

    Physical Demands

    • Minimum lifting/pulling of 40 pounds using proper lifting techniques
    • Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity
    • If weight exceeds 40 pounds, asking for assistance is required
    • Hearing, wring, typing

    Age Requirement

    Must be at least 18 years of age
