Position Title: Sr Systems Engineer Description: This is a senior level IT position for someone who has demonstrable IT knowledge and significant experience. The primary role of the engineer is to translate business to technology and technology to business, and must, therefore, have strong communication as well as analytical skills. He or she must have a passion for learning about technology and business, a natural inclination to engage and take ownership of issues, and an ability to talk both business and technical. A successful Engineer will be able to take complex problems and break them down into smaller pieces, consider the big picture as well as the details, and take input from a multitude of directions to paint a broad picture.

The Systems Engineer is responsible for building and implementing leading edge systems and cloud solutions and infrastructure technologies, participate in architectural design, to meet the specified operational needs and parameters, improving the existing network environment, and providing senior level operational support to administrators. The engineer will be responsible for researching solutions, designing and implementing configurations, and writing technical and operational maintenance documentation. Job Functions:

Respond to support requests and level 1 & 2 escalations in a timely and professional manner. Communicate with clients and/or internal staff to report, escalate and resolve system related or network issues

Track and document work tasks, changes and issues daily in the ticket system.

Administer Windows Servers with an excellent understanding of Active Directory.

Configure, troubleshoot and recover Microsoft Server 2016/2019/2022 operating Systems.

Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware Host loads, recovery and management.

Manage cluster solutions for failover and high availability using Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware.

Guest server troubleshooting, configuration and management.

Troubleshoot server application software loads.

Troubleshoot server hardware, software, and networking and routing problems impacting clients.

Comfortable with multi server environments in LAN and WAN configurations using DFS.

Knowledge of HTTP(S), network protocols such as IP, TCP, UDP, DNS, SMTP, SNMP along with packet analysis and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc...).

Knowledge of Security controls, Proxies, SSL VPN, NAC and Firewalls.

Working knowledge of Cloud Architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and Security Solutions.

Manage client servers, including maintaining current status of software, applying security hot fixes and system patches.

Troubleshoot and resolve NTFS permissions and GPO related issues.

Remotely install, troubleshoot and configure software.

General client PC and Server maintenance tasks as needed.

Troubleshoot Windows 10 and 11 operating systems, applications and networking functions.

Support of handheld devices iPhone and or Android.

Configure, manage and troubleshoot data backup's software, devices and appliances.

Installation, configuration and management of antivirus software

Knowledgeable in the use and management of Spyware/Malware removal using Malware bytes

Partner with business to gather requirements and ensure needs are being met

Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

years of Systems Engineer in a directly related role; or Bachelor's Degree with 5 years of directly related experience. Experience with ZOLL technologies, Emergency Medical Service, Electronic Medical Records a plus.

Understanding of HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley.

Broad array of system and server knowledge including MS Windows.

Experience administering Microsoft systems and servers.

Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Exchange Server including Office 365, SharePoint, One Drive.

Knowledge of and experience with Mobile Device Management a plus.

Experience with Microsoft Active Directory.

Knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server.

IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL preferred.

Hands on experience working with Cloud Architectures (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).

Hands on experience in security systems, network technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc.

Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security.

Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential.

Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with all levels of personnel both internally and externally; , executives, clients, vendors, and agencies.

Ability to work in and constructively contribute to team work environment and meet stringent deadlines.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Attention to detail and follow through including the ability to document work.

Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information is essential.
