    We are looking for a Summer Chemist intern to form part of our Chemtronics business unit team. Since 1958 Chemtronics has been at the forefront of electronics maintenance and repair. Our product offering has grown from a handful of cleaners to a complete line of ultra-pure solvents, degreasers, swabs, wipes, and repair tools for the electrical, electronics and telecommunications industry

    Job Description

    Summary:

    The Production Manager oversees 30-40 production employees on a variety of production lines. The Production Manager will also manage various production activities including production coordination, materials management to the production lines, safety, and may assist in logistics/supply chain. Responsible for ensuring high-quality outputs are produced in a cost-effective and timely manner, driving efficiency and continuous improvement. Provides leadership to production staff and technicians, embodying ITW's core values and decentralized entrepreneurial culture.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Direct and coordinate production activities, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards with a commitment to excellence.
    • Work with Inventory Control Specialist and Purchasing Manager to ensure materials and inventory availability to support production needs and minimize downtime.
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe working environment, prioritizing employee well-being and compliance with regulations.
    • Optimize manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining quality and putting focus on the most critical aspects.
    • Lead and mentor production staff and technicians to foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability, developing individuals and promoting collaboration.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production challenges and drive operational excellence, emphasizing teamwork and shared success.
    • Assist in distribution and logistics operations to meet customer delivery requirements.
    • Analyze performance metrics of the production staff and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve operational targets.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and competitiveness.
    • Embody forward thinking and simplicity, and focus on impactful strategies around your core products and customers.
    • Understand and implement a visual KanBan system for both raw materials and finished goods.
    • Pull data from ERP system into Microsoft Excel to generate reports such as:
      • Manufacturing schedules
      • Backorders
      • Months on Hand Inventory (MOH)
      • Credit and Customer Service holds
      • Orders needed per day to meet revenue goals for the month
      • Revenue needing to ship per day to meet revenue goals for the month
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing environment
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
    • Ability to pull data from ERP system into Microsoft Excel to generate reports
    • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to problem-solve and drive results.
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence, aligned with the ITW Business Model.
