Supplier Quality Management Engineering focuses on planning, organizing, directing, and reporting on supplier provided raw materials, designed/manufactured goods, and packaging materials to ensure they meet or exceed requirements including:This position oversees verifying and validating that suppliers and/or subcontractors have received engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements.
The Lead Supplier Quality Management Engineer is responsible for monitoring quality control activities and systems at supplier and subcontractor facilities, and ensures programs are in place to improve supplier performance and productivity.
This position also reviews and analyzes corrective action reports to reduce/eliminate defects and may perform deviation investigations into quality issues.
What really matters at Bridgestone is providing our teammates with the tools, support and autonomy to ensure you feel fulfilled and have clear direction to reach your goalsResponsibilitiesIn this role, your primary responsibilities will include:Leads large projects or processes of complex scope, with limited oversight from managerCoaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level professionalsAssists in the development of operational plan and implements for areas of assigned responsibilitiesIdentifies continuous improvement/automation activities and makes frequent recommendations based on detailed analyses and applying results to drive improvementsAdapts precedent and may holistically change standard operating procedures to develop new solutionsSupports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholdersTravel is estimated at 20-30%.Preferred Experience and SkillsFactory quality manager experience is a plusLean Six Sigma certificationLead Auditor training, experience auditing or proven understanding of an audit processTire manufacturing experience as part of the time period of the minimum qualificationsProduct development experience working with a supplier understanding the supplier's impact to the quality of the finished goodAbility to work successfully in a team environmentMinimum QualificationsTypically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent work experience.
