- Enhance data knowledge by supporting and improving user event processing.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level data engineers and contracting partners.
- Actively lead within the agile/scrum development process

- Proficient in API and streaming data integration.
- Deep knowledge of data warehousing models and design principles.
- Familiar with user event data collection tools like Firebase, GA4, or similar platforms.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Data preferred.
- 7+ years of related work experience.
- Highly proficient in programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or other general-purpose scripting languages.
- Experienced with data orchestration tools like Airflow, FiveTran, DBT, Pub/Sub, or similar streaming technologies.
- Experienced with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure.

The YouVersion Staff Data Engineer will lead the development of scalable data infrastructure and processes to support the Bible App's global growth. This role focuses on defining best practices, setting technical standards, delivering excellent solutions and mentoring engineers to foster a culture of excellence. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Staff Data Engineer will design innovative solutions that align with the organization's mission while driving strategic technical and architectural decisions. The Staff Data Engineer utilizes their skills to deliver technical outcomes that align with the direction of their team to further Life.Church's mission and to reach people for Christ.
