    Job Summary:
    Erlanger's 340B team oversees four entities, numerous child sites, and an expansive contract pharmacy relationship within the program.

    The 340B analyst will support the 340B Program Coordinator in evaluating the program's strategic growth, financial impacts with institutional and manufacturer changes, contract pharmacy relationships, and compliance monitoring.

    This role will involve data reporting, auditing and comprehension of data, and creating resolution for identified issues. Priorities will also lie in maintenance of split billing system data and navigating the hospital electronic health record system.
    Candidate should be proficient in utilizing Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to help carry out daily functions within the team. Software management will include the split billing system, multiple contract pharmacy platforms, and hospital electronic health record system.

    Education:

    Required:
    High School Graduate, CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician), if not certified, to be certified within 1yr of employment,
    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


    Preferred:
    AS Degree in Pharmacy Technology or Accredited Pharmacy Tech Course completion
    2+ years of hospital pharmacy experience
    340B Program experience
    BA/BS


    Experience:

    Required:
    CPhT must have a minimum of one-year pharmacy experience
    LPN, RN with CPhT Certification is acceptable with no experience.

    Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration


    Required:


    Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician, Active Certified Pharmacy Technician and must have or the ability to obtain Tennessee State Pharmacy License within 60 days of employment.

    Pharmacy technician licensure in the state of TN- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification.


    Department Position Summary:


    In general, the 340B Pharmacy Analyst is responsible for collecting various patient and medication use data from the hospital's electronic medical record system to audit appropriate documentation and medication usage.

    The 340B Pharmacy Analyst must be able to recognize possible dosing errors, duplications in medication therapy, generic/trade name usages, and charging errors within pharmacy encounters.

    They must be functional in data entry, report set up and editing utilizing the hospital's computer software. Analyst will need to navigate within interfaced pharmacy systems and multiple contract pharmacy platforms. Effective time management and computer literacy is highly important.

    Adherence to and familiarity with control and safety concepts as outlined in policies, state laws, and JCAHO/DNV Standards for the Department of Pharmacy.

    All functions must be performed using excellent customer relation skills.

    Organizes data for MUE's, P & T Committee, Quality Improvement Functions and other Clinical Reporting Functions. Appropriately process medication orders following procedures appropriate to the practice area.

    Contacts nursing staff and or physicians as needed regarding questions or to obtain information as requested by the 340B Program Coordinator.

    Use reference material to obtain drug information and verifies collection and analysis of data as required. Orders meds/supplies as needed. Comprehend processes in medication refills, stock-outs, and obtains reports as required. Appropriately informs the department of any activities which impact the department or the provision of pharmaceutical care. Complies with administrative and department dress codes.

    Proficient in utilizing Hospital Information System, Pharmacy Department Computer System, Passes testing and demonstrates ability to utilize computer software (Excel, Microsoft Word, Clinitrends, etc.).

    Assists in setting goals and direction for the Department. Pursues cross training and willingly works in all aspects of pharmacy services at any time. Assesses the environment for safety and cleanliness and takes corrective action as necessary. Attends all mandatory full staff meetings. Actively assists in the training and education of other staff and patients. Complies with Departmental Policies and procedures.


    Specifically, the 340B Pharmacy Analyst will work with the 340B program coordinator to monitor compliance of the 340B program, assist in auditing responsibilities, ensure appropriate ordering of medications, and other associated duties as outlined by the program coordinator and pharmacy administration.

    The 340B Pharmacy Analyst should have demonstrated proficiency in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and data mining. A capable candidate would be able to work independently with little supervision and still produce quality, accurate work. Adaptability and willingness to learn and teach others are essential traits for this role.
