    Senior Project Manager - Bridge and Highway Construction

    Location: Smithfield, RI

    Position Overview: As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our

    bridge and highway projects from inception to completion. Your leadership, technical expertise,

    and strategic thinking will be essential in ensuring successful project delivery, client satisfaction,

    and adherence to quality standards.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Project Setup:

    o Develop project execution plans, resource allocation, and assist in schedule

    development.

    2. Constructability Reviews:

    o Conduct thorough reviews of project plans, designs, and specifications identifying

    potential constructability challenges and propose solutions.

    3. Project Financial Management:

    o Monitor financial performance, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.

    4. Long-Term Schedule Management:

    o Maintain project schedules, considering critical milestones. Coordinate with

    subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to meet deadlines.

    5. Collaboration with Project Superintendent:

    o Work closely with the project superintendent to ensure smooth on-site operations

    while addressing field issues promptly and efficiently.

    6. Submittal and RFI (Request for Information) Management:

    o Manage and develop submittals, ensuring compliance with project requirements.

    Facilitate timely responses to RFIs, maintaining effective communication.

    7. Billing and Change Order Management:

    o Prepare accurate progress billings and submit to clients. Manage change orders,

    negotiate adjustments, and update project documentation.

    8. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

    o Identify project risks related to safety, quality, and schedule. Implement risk

    mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.

    9. Quality Control:

    o Ensure work meets industry standards, specifications, and safety protocols.

    10. Stakeholder Communication:

    o Collaborate with clients, engineers, regulatory agencies, and local authorities

    providing regular project updates and addressing concerns promptly.

    Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.


    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in bridge and highway construction; minimum 5 years as

    a PM or Senior Superintendent.


    • Proven track record of successfully managing bridge and highway projects over $5M.

    Experience with projects in the $10M+ range is preferable.


    • Prefer candidates with experience managing projects for RIDOT, MassDOT, or other State

    transportation agencies.


    • Design-Build and accelerated bridge construction experience desired.
