    As an HVAC Tech II, you'll maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment and systems at our corporate facility locations.

    We are looking for:
    - technical degree / training
    - experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems

    Maintenance / Repair & Replacement:

    • Maintains / repairs large HVAC units (cooling towers, wiring / breakers, blowers, motors, compressors, coils, heat exchangers, condensers, ducts, etc.); replaces electrical and refrigerant sensors
    • Makes major repairs / cleans / performs PM on HVAC cooling towers
    • Repairs large AC units
    • Maintains / makes minor repairs to refrigerator and freezer equipment, and refrigerated prep and display cases
    • Maintains / repairs large ice machines (low, medium, high temp refrigeration)
    • Operates / maintains / repairs chiller and boilers, including water treatment
    • May perform / assists with preventive maintenance inspections
    • Maintains CRAC units; collaborates with vendors to repair / replace
    • Monitors walkin coolers and freezers on BMS; maintains / repairs as needed; may consult with vendors as needed
    • Researches / orders new parts, supplies, and equipment
    • Opens / closes repair and maintenance work orders using work order management system
    • Works with outside engineers, vendors, etc. on projects affecting HVAC systems
    • May install / assists in installing and replacing HVAC units
    • May assist in the maintenance buildings and grounds
    • Coaches others on / fosters a culture of safety
    What is your background?

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Technical school education (preferred)
    • 4+ years of experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems
    • Experience in refrigeration and boilers
    • EPA Section 608 Technician Universal certification
    • Completion of hazardous materials handling certification, once hired
    • Valid driver's license; good driving record
    Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an HVAC Tech III at H-E-B?

    • Advanced working knowledge of all HVAC systems, related safety guidelines and codes, and electrical / mechanical testing devices
    • Working knowledge related to interpreting blueprints and evaluating code compliance related to electrical installations and HVAC maintenance, building / construction methods, and plumbing systems
    • Knowledge of OSHA / building codes that affect workplace health and safety
    • Strong written / verbal communication skills; strong reading and math skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Analytical, troubleshooting, and problemsolving skills; attention to detail
    • Ability to read / interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, codes, and electrical formulas
    • Ability to foster / demonstrate safe work practices
    • Ability to adapt procedures, techniques, tools, and materials to meet special troubleshooting / repair needs
    • Ability to take initiative and work autonomously

    • Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
    • Lift 50 lbs
    • Work in extreme temperatures, ranging from 20 to 130 degrees, and in potentially hazardous conditions / noise
    • Work while standing, sitting, stooping, bending, reaching, with hands over head, in a prone position, from a ladder
