    Description

    Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse - Ob/GYN Department

    **Summary:** Performs tasks and responsibilities within the framework of case finding, health teaching, health counseling, and provision of supportive and restorative care under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed healthcare provider.

    We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at New Milford Hospital's OB/GYN Department. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our medical staff.

    Responsibilities:

    • Greet patients in waiting areas, escort them to clinical areas, check-out patients, and answer their questions.
    • Make telephone call-backs and provide telephone care as directed by physicians/providers and RNs.
    • Provide patient counseling and education as directed by providers (verbal, brochures, handouts).
    • Manage HPN and NYSIIS immunization registration, reprints, and account updates if applicable.
    • Prepare medical records in advance of appointments, including anticipatory tasks such as consent forms, ABNs, PHI Release, obtaining medical records from other providers/facilities, and updating EMRs when necessary.
    • Check-in patients, obtain and document chief complaints, vital signs, history, ordered CLIA waived tests, capture charges for ancillary services, and assist with medication/allergy reconciliation at every office visit.
    • Assist patients with completing patient summaries, history forms, and obtaining appropriate treatment consents, including administering and documenting injections, dispensing and documenting medications as directed by physicians/providers.
    • Prepare patients and exam rooms, chaperone and assist physicians/providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments if needed.
    • Label and handle labs, pap smears, cultures, biopsies, and other specimens; prepare laboratory and imaging requisitions.
    • Coordinate further patient care and follow-up, and carry out tasks as directed by RNs and/or physicians/providers, which may include communication with patients, hospitals, labs, imaging centers, pharmacies, physician offices, insurance plans.
    • Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, tests, and treatments in medical records.
    • Ensure patients have follow-up testing and appointments with physicians.

    **Requirements:**

    • BLS certification within 30 days of starting.
    • Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
    • Basic medical knowledge and terminology.
    • Computer skills/data entry.
    • Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vitals.
    • Vaccine administration and medication preparation.

    **Preferred Qualifications:**

    • Minimum one year of experience.
    • Proficiency in multiple languages.
    • Phlebotomy.
    • EKG.

    **Education Required:**

    • High School Graduate or Equivalent.
    • Graduate of an accredited LPN program.

    Work Schedule: Day 8

    Work Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

    Salary Range: $22,250.00 - $41,320.00 Hourly
