This position is responsible for providing mental health screenings for patients served by the Adolescent Medicine Center, ages The staff will initiate and facilitate referrals for inpatient and outpatient mental health, eating disorder and substance abuse treatment services, including counseling, psychiatry, nutrition and psychological testing. This position serves youth and families with diverse backgrounds of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity; comfort and expertise in cultural congruency is extremely important. A positive youth development approach and shared youth decision-making are incorporated into all client services.Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Facilitates referrals and community resources for patients/families.
- Works closely with adolescents with eating disorders and their caregivers.
- Supports families in a pilot project for collaborative care with psychiatry.
- Verifies insurance coverage for patients and helps families re-establish insurance coverage or change plans.
- Answers inquiries from patients/families about community resources.
- Prepares psychosocial reports and maintains necessary records.
- Coordinates patient appointments and provides telephone follow-up.
- May provide some direct therapy to adolescents and families.

Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work.
- Currently a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location.
- Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of experience with mental health and substance abuse assessment and counseling with youth.
- Training and clinical experience with trauma modalities (i.e., TF-CBT, DBT, EMDR).
- Background and expertise in working with youth and young adults who are LGBTQ+ - identified, persons of color.

$56, $87,100.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
